Day 8 of Training Camp

- On August 4, 2014 Johnny Manziel took all the snaps with the Browns first-team offense. Manziel was unofficailly 6-17 on the day, and didn't blow anyone away with his play. But the competition is alive in Berea.

-Coach Pettine said that putting Manziel was all apart of the team's plan all along and that the teams scrimmage on Saturday had nothing to do with the decision. Pettine wouldnt name a starter for Saturday's pre season game vs Det, but most likely it will be Brian Hoyer.

-During the teams 2 minute drill work Manziel was 3 and out. While Hoyer produced a field goal.

-Josh Gordon was back on the practice field today after leaving the team last Thursday to appeal his NFL suspension. Gordon left practice early to deal with his appeal hearing via the phone this afternoon.

-TE Jordan Cameron missed practice today as he is dealing with an AC issue in his shoulder. if it was a game week he could have practiced.

-When Pettine was asked about Jason Pinkston he said " I don't see him coming back in the foreseeable future.

-DT Phil Taylor returned to the practice field today after missing all of camp with a hamstring injury.

-The DB's today at times worked with boxing like gloves to get use to not grabbing and holding wide outs, as the league will be coming down on that this season.

-Free agent rookie WR Willie Snead continues to impress and looks like he will be a tough guy to cut. Today Pettine said the defense hates playing against him because of how tough he plays.
