North Korea is threatening war against the U.S. again, this time over the duo responsible for stoner movies like “Pineapple Express.”
BBC reports a North Korean foreign ministry spokesman called an upcoming Hollywood film about assassinating supreme leader Kim Jong-un an “act of war” and promised a “merciless” retaliation.
The movie in question is “The Interview,” due in theaters October 10. It stars Seth Rogen and James Franco as a producer/talk show host duo who are given the opportunity to interview Kim Jong-un – until the CIA tasks them with assassinating him. “Making and releasing a movie on a plot to hurt our top-level leadership is the most blatant act of terrorism and war and will absolutely not be tolerated,” the spokesman reportedly said to KCNA, Korea’s state television news. North Korea’s warnings have increased in intensity since four days ago, when they dismissed the movie as “desperation.” (RELATED: North Korea Is Grumpy With Seth Rogen And James Franco [VIDEO])
He added the movie was causing a “gust of hatred and rage” among the North Korean people.
