Car stolen from the set of Captain America 2

(Middleburg Heights) - A man is facing grand theft charges after police say he was stopped driving a car stolen from the Captain America 2 set in Cleveland.

Middleburg Heights Police Lt. Kevin Hoover pulled the 2013 Chevy Malibu over on I-71 just after midnight because it had no license plates.

The officer later determined the car was taken from the set of Captain America: The Winter Soldier which is currently filming in downtown Cleveland.

Middleburg Heights Mayor Gary Starr says the suspect had no drivers license, and handed a license plate prop to the officer, who took him into custody without incident.

Starr reports, the suspect was driving under suspension, and has been in trouble with the law many times before. He's identified as Norman Polk and is in the Cuyahoga County Jail.

Starr tells Newsradio WTAM 1100, the car was returned to the set and actor Samuel L. Jackson. The mayor says this proves Middleburgh Heights has its own action figures watching over the city.

Investigators are still trying to determine how the car was stolen from the set because there was heavy security in the area.
