(Cleveland) - Cleveland Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding a crash Thursda night at 1405 East 61st Street that killed two people.
At approximately 11:48pm, a 2006 Hyundai Sonata driven by 33-year-old Willa Guy of Cleveland traveled westbound on Wade Park Avenue at a very high rate of speed. The vehicle struck a curb and embankment near East 63rd Street and became airborne, striking the tree tops and then the second floor of a private home at 1405 East 61st Street.
The vehicle then fell to the ground landing in the driveway area of 1405 East 61st Street.
The homeowner, Emeal Woods, was at home in his kitchen washing dishes at the time of the accident. He was not hurt.
Guy and her passenger, 49-year-old Michael Carter of Wickliffe, were pronounced dead on scene.
The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s Office responded for investigation and transportation of the victims. This matter will be further investigated by the Cleveland Division of Police Accident Investigation Unit.
