(Cleveland) The RTA is celebrating a milestone. The Healthline Rapid Transit Bus Service is 5 years old. The service offers frequent travel from downtown to University Circle with 40 stops along the way. RTA CEO Joe Calabrese says it's made a bigger impact than he expected.
The bus service was an investment of $200 million dollars, but in the 5 years since it opened it's generated $5 million dollars of revenue into the city.
Former Mayor and Senator George Voinovich was on hand for a press conference marking the anniversary of the Healthline. Voinovich says it's been a boost to the economy for University Circle, as well as Euclid Avenue and Cleveland's mid-town area.
