A Rock-N-Roll run through Cleveland

(Downtown) - Cleveland's first Rock-N-Roll Half Marathon & Mini Marathon was conducted without a hitch in the business district.

Runners started the race at 8:00am outside the Rock-N-Roll Hall of Fame to the beat of a variety of tunes. The finish line was in front of the Horseshoe Casino, where live bands were playing and a concert was held.

Finishers began crossing the line at 10am. Event manager Natalie Miyake says the goal was to make running fun for the casual athlete, with lots of music, cheerleaders and a festive atmosphere.

About 8,000 runners and spectators came downtown to enjoy the action and to pump and estimated $10-million into Cleveland's economy.

Twenty-eight-year-old Aaron Apathy of Westlake, won the men's division at 1:12:44, and 31-year-old Kelly Green of Burton, won the women's division with a time of 1:23:19.
