(Cleveland) – An eight hour Cleveland SWAT standoff ended peacefully Sunday.
That’s because the suspect wasn’t there.
It started with a report of a domestic violence incident which occurred at 11327 Miles Ave.
Sgt. Sammy Morris says that upon arrival, it was learned that the male involved in the incident entered this address and had barricaded himself inside. The male was said to have a shotgun and was seen in an upstairs window of the apartment building.
The suspect did not have any hostages. The female involved in the incident and children possibly involved in the incident left the building unharmed.
Fourth District officers established a perimeter of the area. The SWAT unit was called due to the barricaded suspect. After a lengthy search of the entire multi-unit/multilevel apartment building, the suspect was not located.
Sgt. Morris says a domestic violence named suspect report will be completed.
