(Cleveland) - At 2 p.m. Wednesday work began on improvements for FirstEnergy Stadium.
One of the three construction teams began executing the disassembly of the west end zone exterior, including the scoreboard, as part of the two-year renovation project’s first phase.
Media and a few fans watched as workers used a crane, recently assembled on-site, on the west side of the stadium to dismantle components of the scoreboard, message boards, windscreens and signage.
Browns spokesman Kevin Griffin says work began even though the temperature downtown was about 10 degrees.
Crewmembers were completely bundled up as they went about their tasks. Work should be completed in time for the team's preseason games.
