(Cleveland) Former Cuyahoga County Auditor Frank Russo has returned to Cleveland, this time as a prison inmate. Russo is serving a 22-year prison sentence for county corruption and is apparently in the county to testify in the on-going corruption probe.
Scott Taylor, a reporter with 19 Action News was a guest with Mike Trivisonno on Tuesday. He says Russo testified in front of the grand jury Tuesday afternoon. He arrived at the Cuyahoga County Jail on Tuesday morning where another former county leader, ex-commissioner Jimmy DiMora has been staying for the past few weeks. DiMora has not testified in the corruption probe, but sources say he has been interrogated.
Taylor says a different judge has been brought in for the grand jury case, which leads some to speculate this could pave the way for DiMora to testify. DiMora is currently serving a 28-year prison term.
It's not known how long both prisoners will stay in the county jail or what charges this testimony could lead to.
