(WHITE DEER, Pa.) — Authorities say an early morning collision between a Greyhound bus headed to Cleveland and a tractor-trailer in central Pennsylvania has killed one person and sending dozens of others to hospitals.
State police said a woman was killed in the crash reported shortly before 2 a.m. Wednesday on Interstate 80 in White Deer Township in Union County.
Greyhound spokeswoman Alexandra Pedrini said 45 of the 50 people on board, including the driver, were taken to five local hospitals. She said she had no information about the severity of the injuries.
Pedrini said the bus was heading nonstop from New York City to Cleveland, Ohio. Family members can call company hotline 800-972-4583 for information.
The westbound lanes of the interstate were shut down, but one lane of travel was opened just before 5 a.m. Wednesday.
