The Browns had their 2nd to last practice during Training Camp here in Berea. Here are the notes from todays practice.
-RB Montario Hardesty who has been in and out of camp with a hamstring injury, left todays practice with a right thumb injury that was wrapped in a splint. Hardesty was hurt receiving a direct snap early in practice. At this time the team hasn’t updated us on Hardesty’s condition but it didn’t look good when he walked off the field.
-Speaking of injuries CB Chris Owens returned to practice after missing time with an arch injury. WR Jordan Norwood returned as well after he has dealt with a hamstring injury.
-Trent Richardson continues to practice but no one knows if he will play on Thursday, here’s what Coach Chudzinski had to say about how they are preparing Richardson, “We are going to talk tonight. I have an idea on what I want to get done. We will talk in detail. I will give you a little more outline for tomorrow overall on what we are going to do.
A lot of it is going to depend, in terms of all the guys, where they are at from a health perspective. We have a lot of guys starting work this week and coming back so I will give you more detail the day before the game on those specific guys.”
-The team practiced a few different formations today as different guys received direct snaps from the center that where not the Quarterback. Richardson loved it as it’s something he did in college.
-Josh Gordon has received some criticism for his work habits and today after practice he was seen for the first time this camp catching balls off the JUGGS machine. Chudzinski has noticed his growth throughout camp,
“I’ve been pleased with the progress he’s made. He’s really been battling through tendinitis in his knee and he has been pushing through that, which I like to see. He’s going in the right direction. Is he perfect? No, but he’s a developing player and a young guy that is learning what it takes and what he is going to need to do to be successful in this league.”
