Day 9 of Training Camp

The Browns where back on the practice field after having Sunday off. The bright side of things had Trent Richardson back in pads and practicing. How much? You’ll have to read the notes to find out.

-Richardson did return to practice on Monday but he was limited for most of the practice as he is coming back from a shin injury.

All signs point towards Richardson not playing on Thursday but Coach Chudzinski wouldn’t say just yet, “It’s good to have him back out there. I have not decided anything about Thursday night in regard to Trent.”

 - But Chud does have a plan when it comes to Richardson. “Yes, we want to work him back in. We are going to be smart with him. We have a plan for him from a general sense. We want him to be able to work to get better to be able to come out here on a daily basis during training camp.”

 - a scary moment came towards the end of practice when right guard Shawn Lauvao was carted off the field after getting bull rushed by Phil Taylor during one on one drills. Because it was near the end of practice no one knows how severe the injury is, but Chud thought it was an ankle injury.

-Chris Ogbonnaya has opened eyes during this camp as he’s playing fullback this year and is listed as the 1st team fullback, but Chud sees Ogbonnaya as more than just a fullback, “He’s a very versatile guy.

He’s able to play tailback and run the ball. He can play fullback and he can block. He can pass protect and catch passes. He’s a guy that can do a lot of different things. Those types of guys you can find roles for and they can help you win.”

-Both Montario Hardesty and David Nelson missed practice again on Monday and Chud was asked is the clock ticking on the two injured vets? “Those are guys we haven’t seen a lot of. I’d like to see them out here. A lot of times it is not under their control or my control. Hopefully, we will get a chance to see them out here soon.”
